Upcoming Michigan tax sales
Three upcoming Michigan county tax sales are on our calendar, from Wednesday, October 14 to October 30, 2026: three tax deed sales, in three counties.
Each date was read on the county's own page, or the auction platform it links to; every row links to that source and says when we checked it. Confirm there before you register — dates move and lists shrink as owners pay.
Michigan rules in brief
Michigan's timeline runs over roughly three years before a property ever reaches an investor: unpaid taxes are returned as delinquent on March 1, forfeited to the county treasurer the next March 1, and foreclosed by a circuit court judgment, with every right of redemption expiring on the March 31 after it (MCL 211.78g, 211.78k). Governments get the first option, then the county auctions what's left between July and November (MCL 211.78m). So unlike lien states, there's no redemption risk baked into a Michigan auction purchase — by the time you can bid, that window already closed. Since 2020 the former owner keeps a claim to any surplus, starting with a notice due by July 1 (MCL 211.78t).

Before your first Michigan sale
Tax deed sales — Michigan: the property itself is sold. The balance is usually due within hours or days, the deed usually comes without a title warranty, and whether the former owner can still redeem after the sale depends on the state; in Michigan: none at auction — redemption ends March 31 after the foreclosure judgment.
