Upcoming Texas tax sales

Eight upcoming Texas county tax sales are on our calendar, from Tuesday, November 3 to December 1, 2026: eight redeemable-deed sales, in seven counties.

Texas also has a statewide sale day set by statute, for every county that has property to sell (details below). The next four are Nov 3, 2026, Dec 1, 2026, Jan 5, 2027 and Feb 2, 2027.

Each date was read on the county's own page, or the auction platform it links to; every row links to that source and says when we checked it. Confirm there before you register — dates move and lists shrink as owners pay.

Texas rules in brief

What is soldRedeemable deed
Rate / penalty25% penalty
Redemption180 days or 2 years

Texas doesn't sell tax lien certificates — it sells redeemable deeds. The winning bidder takes the deed at the sale. On most property the prior owner has 180 days to redeem at a flat 25% penalty, but on a residence homestead, agricultural land or a mineral interest the window is two years, at 25% in the first year and 50% in the second (Tex. Tax Code § 34.21).

The statute, how bidding works and the mistakes that cost new buyers money are in the Texas guide.

Deadlines before you bid

Registration, deposit and payment rules for the upcoming Texas sales, as the counties' own pages state them:

Before your first Texas sale

Redeemable-deed sales — Texas: the bidder gets a deed, but the former owner can buy the property back within the state's redemption period by paying the bid plus a statutory premium or interest — so the winning bidder may end up with that return instead of the property.

Get the final list the week of the sale, register before the county's cut-off, and check the payment form it accepts. Then research the property itself: how to research a property before a tax sale.
